Professional development refers to the development of individuals in their professional role.  This is a way for international teaching professionals expand and/or deepen their skills as educators. Professional development (sometimes abbreviated as PD) generally refers to formal classes, seminars, and workshops. This Program encompasses instructional coaching, mentoring, and teacher collaboration as effective means for professional development for professionals in the field of education.

 

Much of the available research on professional development involves each individual professional’s perception of his or her own achievements and goals yet to be achieved. Variables are the review facility or classroom, teacher or instructor, the professional’s level related to the level of learning, work and community involvement, instructional strategies, classroom management, curriculum design, his or her background knowledge, and motivation.
